State Editor
The State Editor is where a Root begins to behave.
Rooted In Code v3 is designed as a living on-chain artwork system.
Each Root begins with a deterministic body of layers, but it is not frozen at mint. Selected visual states can continue to shape how the Root appears, moves, and responds over time.
The State Editor is the collector-facing interface for those changes: phase, visible layers, palette, scale, timing, and reseed.

Phase
Change the perceptual state of a Root.
Layers
Control which parts of the visual body are visible.
Palette
Shift the color logic of the artwork.
Scale
Adjust the dominance of selected layers.
Timing
Change the rhythm of animated behavior.
Reseed
Create a new deterministic variation when available.
Controlled on-chain state layering
The State Editor does not replace the artwork. It changes selected state values recorded by the contract.
When those states are updated, the Root responds from its on-chain data: visible layers can shift, palettes can change, timing can move, and the same Root can appear in a different state.
_ The origin remains the same.
_ The visible state does not.
